How Online Reselling became a serious side hustle

Like Most college grads of 2020; I graduated during a pandemic. Aka, the worst time to graduate. I had a job for about 2 months when the shutdown happened. Very quickly I needed to make money to pay my bills to avoid eviction. I’ve sold on eBay for years casually, so it was the first place I turned to when I needed money. I also sold via Facebook marketplace, Instagram and Poshmark.

So yes, I sold my used junk everyone told me no one wanted. But they were wrong.

Number one advice is to use the eBay app and look up sold listings. That is how you know what to pick up.

eBay Earnings

In 12 months I made S12,764.07 on eBay after fees. Before fees and selling costs, it was around $21k. Majority of that money was made between August and December. I did not have a niche, rather I sold a little bit of everything.

The best tip I have to get started is to sell items around your house. Everything I no longer used was sold. Broken items, clothes, décor, toys, cosmetics. Literally if I could get $5, I sold it. Even broken electronics can be worth money. Friends of mine gave me their old broken computers when I told them I needed money. That got me $50- 300 depending on condition and model.
